Several years ago I read a great book called "Rescuing the Bible from Fundamentalism" by John Shelby Spong, an Episcopal bishop. In it, he states that the reason homosexuality was so strenuously frowned upon in old Judaic culture was because it reduced men to a sexual passivity that belonged to females, who were considered inherently inferior to men. Basically, "to lie with a man as if he were a woman" was not an insult to God or nature, but an insult to the dignity of a generation of misogynists.
Anyway, I've always regarded Christianity as a lifestyle choice, rather than an inborn orientation. I resent that we have to endlessly justify our reality to flatter their delusions.
