The Escalade is too immense and a bit too ghetto for my tastes although the amenities offered are impressive. If an opportunity should cross your path to drive a CTS you might find it interesting (as long as it's not the anemic V6).
I've owned 2 BMWs, a Saab, and a Volvo. The Swedes were used and a bit quirky. The BMWs, purchased new, were fabulous drivers cars when they were running right. Sadly, BMWs attitude regarding positive service experiences has scared me away from owning another.
Other than being a speeding ticket magnet (none so far but give me time...), my current car, an E55 AMG Mercedes, has been a joy to own and drive.
