Vacation Day 1 - Travel to Toronto
Jul. 26th, 2007 07:26 amShuttle arrives 15 minutes early. This is just wrong. Where's the angst in not knowing if they've forgotten you?
Southwest flight slightly overbooked. Typical. Flight has more families with children (all screaming babies) than I've ever seen on a flight. I race towards the back of the plane, end up in Row 19. Close enough to hear the waves of sound from that Babelujah Chorus but far enough so that the iPod saves my limited sanity.
No decent plane eye candy (this never happened when I lived in SF!). Bounced our way across the US (first time I'd seen an active thunder and lightning storm from above, cool!), landed an hour late in Buffalo. Lost close to another hour waiting for luggage. Met my good friends Kent and Brian (neither on LJ, the slugs) at baggage claim as planned, saw their huge home in the country, and did the fairly quick drive (at night) to Toronto. Wheee, I'm here!
