Looking the Gift Horse in the Mouth

Upon return to work today after a couple of days vacation, I found a notice that I'm entitled to a 10 year achievement award.  Wandering through the catalog of items, I find a coffee maker, some cheap ass jewelry, a steak knife set (presumably to be used on corporate management), and an electric waffle maker.  I can hear myself now shouting to friends and neighbors...  "Hey, want a 10th year anniversary waffle???"

And what will I be choosing...

Now let's see, that works out to $6 per year of employment.  Or about 2.3 cents per day.

When I reached my 10 year mark, the bank gave me an acrylic paperweight with NationsBank and a 10 etched on it.
