Congrats! Keep me posted as to how you like it. I intend to wait until my contract is up with Sprint and then get the same one you have...but have a year to wait. A friend of mine has the new Sprint iPhone clone, and loves it! So, the question is, can I wait a whole year, or be forced to go over to the dark side...
For me, Sprint wasn't an option as they have a notorious poor service area surrounding my home. Having lived with the original iPhone and AT&T for nearly a year, I can say that it doesn't perform better than other phones but the interface is easier to use. Is the latest and greatest from Sprint (or anyone else) better than the iPhone? Sooner or later it will be.
While the latest and greatest - eventually - may be "better" than the iPhone, if it won't desktop sync with a Mac, how "great" it is becomes a moot point.
I will be curious to read how you enjoy the 3G network and experience from AT&T/Apple.
While waiting on line today, they handed out free bottles of water. We speculated that it was 3G iWater. Same taste but you could gulp it three times faster!
I'm amused that the US is suddenly discovering 3G.
You're all going for the iPhone, but I found that the interface was slow and clunky. Hated the onscreen keyboard. And the big killer for me - no SIP (VoIP) client.
You know, you're the technogeek's technogeek. I admire that drive you have to find the perfect device that does it all. For me, the iPhone is very approachable with an interface that I find incredibly user friendly. The E71 and the iPhone each have their advantages. It's like ice cream, a matter of taste.

Date: 2008-07-25 08:01 pm (UTC)This new Instinct, that they're touting as "better" than the iPhone... well... if you're a Mac user then it's not (it won't desktop sync with a Mac).
If you're on a PC, well then... I suppose it doesn't really matter.
