How to say Thank You

I bought a CD over the 'net the other day and got a giggle over the response I received from the vendor...

"Your CD has been gently taken from our shelves with sterilized contamination-free gloves and placed onto a satin pillow.

A team of 50 employees inspected your CD and polished it to make sure it was in the best possible condition before mailing.

Our packing specialist from Japan lit a candle and a hush fell over the crowd as he put your CD into the finest gold-lined box that money can buy.

We all had a wonderful celebration afterwards and the whole party marched down the street to the post office where the entire town of Portland waved "Bon Voyage!" to your package, on its way to you, in our private jet on this day, Wednesday, May 27th.

I hope you had a wonderful time shopping at our store.  We sure did. Your picture is on our wall s "Customer of the Year."  We're all exhausted but can't wait for you to come back!!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Sigh..."

Gotta love it.

Apparently you've bought CDs from them before and weren't as happy with a purchase, voicing it to them. Your name is in their tickler file!

Actually no, I've never purchased a thing from this vendor. The only unusual aspect of my order was a request for an extra cost expedited shipping. That's one of the reasons I found this response so amusing. I think it's just this company's attempt to separate itself from the herd of similar vendors. And it worked, at least in my case!

I liked it, too! Very clever!

Wonderful! If any of this is incorrect (e.g. no gold-lined box) you have the makings of a fine law suit. You could get rich from this one purchase! Gotta love the US legal system!

Now THAT's customer service for you! You gotta tell us which online store it is now :-)

It's a company called "CD Baby" that offers music from independent artists. A buddy offers his CD's through the website.

You know, I'm SURE I've seen this type of thing before... I wonder if I'VE purchased something from them!

It DOES make you want to go back and buy more though, doesn't it...? Clever! :-)

Correct! Here's a copy of our home game and a case of Rice-a-Roni, the San Francisco treat!
