Stumptown Countdown
Apr. 18th, 2007 12:49 pmLess than two weeks to the annual Stumptown Stomp fly-in in Guerneville. Color me excited. I need the break, it's in one of my favorite locations, and I'll be (hopefully) seeing a part of my square dance family that I've missed since moving south.
At the risk of sounding too much like a square dance cultist, it has been a very rewarding obsession. Yes, the dancing is mentally (and sometimes physically) challenging. But it's the community of folks of which I've become a part, the friendships I've made (and continue to make) that has had the biggest impact. Great people (with a sprinkling of flakes) that celebrate the good times and come together when times get rough.
Friday, the 27th will include a brief stop in the Castro and then off to points north. You have been warned.
